Wisconsin has long needed a state-based, progressive issue advocacy organization that conducts aggressive grassroots and media campaigns on the important public policy issues facing the state.
To this end, the Greater Wisconsin Committee (GWC) was established in 2004 to communicate with people across the state to define and advance the important issues facing our citizens.
GWC assembles the best research, strategic and creative talent to educate and mobilize Wisconsin residents on important economic, health, social and environmental issues.
At a time when conservative wedge and special interest politics dominated the State Capitol, the Greater Wisconsin Committee was created to change the atmosphere.
Your support is needed now more than ever to fight back against Scott Walker's attacks on our children, seniors and working families.
Your donation will be put to immediate use in getting our message out.
Our goal is to raise the level of the public debate, and to begin a dialogue about the issues that affect people's daily lives - health care, jobs, education, tax fairness, the environment, public safety, ethics and more.
In this message from the Greater Wisconsin Committee, it is clear that Dan Feyen's priorities are not right for Wisconsin. Feyen supports tax breaks for the wealthy and is willing to pay for them by shortchanging public schools and vital roads and infrastructure. Dan Feyen is wrong for Wisconsin.
In this message from the Greater Wisconsin Committee, State Senator Luther Olsen admitted he knew about problems at the King Veterans Home, but also voted to raid $26 million from veterans homes and spent it elsewhere. Our veterans are suffering from neglect and substandard care: chronic nursing shortages, patients over-medicated, reports of abuse. Luther Olsen even canceled an inspection tour of King so he could judge a baking contest. Tell Luther Olsen stop ignoring our veterans.
This video raises legitimate issues about the Wisconsin Supreme Court by the Greater Wisconsin Committee. Our judges should be fair and impartial. But Rebecca Bradley called gays immoral, abnormal, queers, and degenerates. She even said she had no sympathy for AIDS victims. Rebecca Bradley also believes that pharmacists should be able to deny filling women's prescriptions for birth control. Why? Because Bradley argues birth control is equivalent to murder.
